Chapter Twenty-Seven: Counterattack
The morning in Antarctica was gloomy and snowy, but David’s mood was bright. The cocktail party at the base last night to celebrate the victory of the game had been held late, but David slept well and was now refreshed to breakfast with the junior generals and senior officials of Antarctica. David values breakfast as an opportunity because the children are in a good mood and have not yet become grumpy and nervous due to the fatigue and frustration of the day, so many things can be negotiated at breakfast on this day.
In the inflatable hall, a military band is playing, and the children who are eating breakfast are listening to cheerful music.
David said during the dinner: “I predict that Chinese children will declare their withdrawal from the game today. ”
Seven Star General Scott grinned as he cut a steak: “It’s not surprising, what other choice can they have under a blow like yesterday?” ”
David raised his glass to Scott: “It’s much easier to get them out of Antarctica next.” ”
“The next step is to get the Russian kids out of the game, and then out of Antarctica,” Scott said. Then it was the turn of Japan and the European Union……”
“Be cautious with Russian children, who knows if they still have crumbs of bread in their pockets?”
Everyone nodded, and they all understood the meaning of the word “bread crumbs”.
“Can we really be sure that Chinese children don’t have crumbs?” Vaughn asked, picking up a raw krill.
David shook his fist at Vaughn and said, “They didn’t!” I said they didn’t! Their bread is so small that it doesn’t leave any dregs behind! Tell you, our adventure was successful! ”
“When will you be optimistic? Wherever you go, there’s an atmosphere of gloom and gloom. Scott said, giving Vaughn a slanted look.
“When death comes, I’ll be more optimistic than any of you.” Vaughn said coldly, swallowing the raw krill in one gulp.
At that moment, a colonel officer came up with a mobile phone, whispered something in David’s ear, and handed him the mobile phone.
“Haha,” David said excitedly with the phone, “the Chinese kids are calling, I said a long time ago, they will definitely quit the game!” Then he raised the microphone: “Hey, Huahua?” Hello hello ……”
David froze suddenly, and the children noticed that his face was not right, and that characteristic sweet smile froze for a few seconds before disappearing. He put down the microphone and looked around for Vaughn, as he always did in times of crisis. After seeing the Secretary of State, he said:
“He informed us that they were continuing to play the nuclear bomb game and had just fired a nuclear missile at our base with a 4 million ton yield that would hit the target in twenty-five minutes.”
Vaughn asked, “What else did he say?” ”
“No, I hung up after saying this.”
All eyes were on Vaughn, who gently lowered his knife and fork and said calmly, “It’s true. ”
Then another officer ran in, looking nervous, and reported that the warning center had spotted an unidentified projectile flying towards it. The launch was detected by the early warning system when it took off from southwestern China, but after layers of verification, it had crossed the equator.
All the generals and officials at the dinner table stood up, their eyes widening and their faces changing suddenly, as if a group of gun-wielding killers had suddenly broken into this luxurious dining room.
“What to do?” Confused, David asked, “Is it okay to hide in those underground hangars that just been built?” ”
The seven-star general shouted: “Underground hangar? Bullshit! A 4 million ton nuclear explosion will turn this area into a crater hundreds of meters deep, and we are now in the center of the crater! He grabbed David and scolded him in the words he used to scold himself: “You idiot! Stupid pig! You’ve got us here! You’ve made us die here! ”
“Helicopter.” Vaughn said simply. This reminded everyone, and they all rushed to the door of the dining room. “Wait,” Vaughn said, and everyone was fixed there like nails at once, “immediately notify all planes to take off, take as many people and critical equipment as they can, but don’t give reasons, and be sure to stay calm.” ”
“And what about the rest of the plane besides? Order the base to be evacuated! David said.
Vaughn shook his head slightly: “There’s no need, in this little time, it is impossible for any vehicle to drive out of the power circle, which will cause a lot of chaos, so that no one can escape in the end.” ”
The children scrambled out of the dining room, but Vaughn was still sitting at the dining table, picking up a napkin and wiping his hands, and slowly got up and walked out, waving to the children in the band, indicating that nothing was too important.
On the tarmac, the children rushed to board the three Black Hawk helicopters, Scott hurriedly climbed into the cabin, and when the rotors of the helicopter began to spin, he looked at his watch and said with a cry: “It’s only eighteen minutes, we can’t run!” Then he turned to David, “You fool trapped us here, and I can’t spare you even if I die!” ”
“Watch your demeanor.” Vaughn, who came up at last, looked at Scott and said coldly:
“We can’t run, woo-woo……” General Seven Stars cried.
“Is it so terrible to die?” Vaughn gave him a rare smile, “If you will, General, you still have seventeen minutes to be a true philosopher.” Then he turned to an officer next to him, “Tell the pilot, don’t climb high, the nuclear bomb may explode at an altitude of about two thousand meters, fly outward at the fastest speed downwind, and if we can fly about thirty kilometers, we will be outside the circle of power.” ”
The three helicopters tilted their rotors and accelerated towards the interior. Davy closed his eyes in pain as he looked down from the porthole and saw the Antarctic base unfold below, looking like a complex sand table model.
The sky was foggy, nothing could be seen below, and the three helicopters seemed to be suspended motionless in the air. But David knew that they might have flown out of the base’s range. He looked at his watch, and twelve minutes had passed since he had been alerted.
“Maybe the Chinese kids are scaring us?” He said to Vaughn, who was sitting next to him.
Vaughn shook his head, “No, it’s true. ”
David leaned back on the porthole and looked out, but it was still foggy outside.

“David, the world game is over.” Vaughn said again, then closed his eyes and leaned against the bulkhead, never speaking again.
It was later learned that the three helicopters had flown for about 10 minutes before the nuclear explosion, flew a distance of about 45 kilometers, and escaped the power circle of the nuclear explosion.
The first thing people on board the helicopter saw was that the outside was submerged in a bright light, and in the words of a young pilot who was unaware at the time, “it was as if we were flying in a neon tube.” The glare lasted for about fifteen seconds before disappearing, and at the same time there was a loud bang, as if the earth was exploding beneath its feet. Immediately afterwards, the people on the helicopter actually saw the blue sky, which was in the form of a circular area centered on the center of the explosion, which was rapidly expanding outward, and it was the shock wave of the nuclear explosion that dispersed the clouds. It later became known that the clouds within a radius of 100 kilometers around the center of the explosion were dispersed. In the middle of this blue sky is a mushroom cloud that rises to the top. The mushroom cloud was initially divided into two parts, one in the air of two thousand meters, which was a large white ball of smoke wrapped in flames after the initial cooling of the fireball, and the other part was on the ground, which was the dust stirred up by the shock wave, like a huge pyramid with a gentle slope. The spire of the pyramid sticks out with a thin strand and finally connects it with the large white ball. The large ball absorbed the dust from the pyramid, and its color immediately darkened, and the flames in it appeared in a certain part of the sphere from time to time. By this time, the fog below had been dispersed along with the clouds, so that the ground could be clearly seen from the helicopter, and the pilot recalled: “The earth suddenly blurred, as if it had become liquid, into an endless flood, rushing in the direction of our flight, and the small hills were like islands and reefs in this flood, and I saw the vehicles on an improvised road being rolled and washed away like matchboxes……”
The three helicopters rose and fell like leaves in a strong wind, sometimes so low that they were close to the ground, and their fuselages were thumped by flying sand and rocks, and sometimes they were thrown high into the air, but they did not crash. When the helicopter finally landed safely on a snowy field, the children jumped out of the cabin and looked up at the tall mushroom cloud in the coastal sky, which had now turned a deep black, and the morning sun still below the horizon of Antarctica had just hit the top of the mushroom cloud, outlining an ever-changing golden outline, and the large circle of clear blue sky around it was slowly expanding……
Chapter Twenty-Seven: The Blizzard
“This is the real South Pole!” Hua Hua said as he stood in the snow and the biting cold wind. Visibility is very low, and the sky and the earth are white, and although this is the coast, it is impossible to distinguish where the sea is and where is the land. The small heads of state in Antarctica stand next to each other in the snowstorm.
“You’re not right,” said the glasses, who had to shout so that others could hear him in the howling wind, “and it rarely snowed in the South Pole before the supernova, which was actually the driest continent on Earth.” ”
“Yes,” Vaughn continued, still dressed so thinly, standing relaxed in the cold wind, unlike the children around him, who shrugged and shivered from the cold, which didn’t seem to work on him. “The previous rise in temperature filled the sky over Antarctica with water vapour, and now the sudden drop in temperature has turned this water vapour into snow, which may be the biggest snow in Antarctica in the next 100,000 years.”
“Let’s go back, we’ll freeze here!” David said with his teeth chattering as he stomped his feet.
So the little leaders returned to the inflatable hall. This hall is identical to the one at the previous U.S. base, but the latter has been vaporized in the nuclear flames of the A.D. mines. The heads of state gathered here to convene a conference on the Antarctic Territory, but now the long-awaited conference is meaningless.
The explosion of the landmine ended the Antarctic war game, and the children of all countries finally agreed to sit down at the negotiating table to discuss the territorial issue of the Antarctic continent. In the past war games, all countries have paid a heavy price, but contrary to expectations, no major power has an absolute advantage in the game, and the competition for the Antarctic is back to the starting point, which makes the upcoming Antarctic territorial negotiations an impossible mission. In the foreseeable future, whether to rekindle the flames of war in Antarctica, or whether there is some other way, the children are at a loss, but the sudden change in the global climate has solved all problems.
In fact, the signs of climate change appeared more than a month ago. In the Northern Hemisphere, children find that autumn, which has been gone for two years, has returned, with a long-lost chill, followed by a few autumn rains that bring cold, and the ground is covered with fallen leaves. After analyzing the global meteorological data, meteorological research institutions in various countries have come to a unanimous conclusion: the impact of supernova explosions on the Earth’s climate is temporary, and the global climate is now returning to the state before the supernova explosion.
Sea levels have stopped rising, but at a much slower rate than they are rising. There are many young scientists who predict that sea levels may never return to their original heights, but one way or another, the World Flood is over.
At this time, the temperature in Antarctica has not changed much, and although the weather here is getting colder, most children think that it is caused by the long dark night that has just passed, and that the rising sun will dispel the cold, and the first spring will appear on the Antarctic continent. How did they know that on this vast continent, the white Grim Reaper was approaching.
In drawing conclusions about climate recovery, countries began to withdraw people from Antarctica, which later proved to be a wise decision. In the past war games, half of them died in conventional war games, and the other half died in nuclear explosions. But if countries do not withdraw from Antarctica in time for global climate recovery, the death toll could be four to five times higher. Most of the bases of various countries on the Antarctic continent are built according to the standard of an ordinary winter of about minus 10 degrees Celsius, and they cannot withstand the severe cold of more than minus 30 degrees Celsius in Antarctica. The temperature change in Antarctica was very slow in the first month, which gave children from all countries the opportunity to evacuate 2.7 million people from the Antarctic continent during this time, which is also an alarming rate in the adult era. However, due to the need for follow-up evacuation equipment, and at the same time, all countries also want to leave some strength in Antarctica, so more than 200,000 children on the Antarctic continent have stayed. At this time, the climate of Antarctica changed abruptly, the temperature dropped by nearly 20 degrees in a week, and the snowstorm swept the entire continent, and Antarctica suddenly became a white hell.
The children of various countries who remained on the Antarctic continent were evacuated urgently, but due to the bad weather, the planes were almost grounded, all the ports were frozen within a week, the ships could not enter, and more than 200,000 children who had not yet been evacuated were stranded on the coast. Most of the petty heads of state are still on the Antarctic continent, coming together to participate in the Antarctic Territory negotiations, and now they are naturally the evacuation command centres. The little heads of state want to gather their own children, but more than 200,000 children from all over the world are already mingling on the coast. Faced with the dangerous situation in front of them, the leaders were helpless.
In the inflatable hall, David said: “Everyone saw the situation outside just now, we must quickly come up with a way, otherwise these more than 200,000 people will freeze to death on the coast!” ”
“If you really can’t do it, let’s go back to the base inland.” Green said.
“Nope.” “In the previous evacuation, the facilities of the bases of various countries have been almost dismantled, there is very little fuel left, so many people can’t last long there, and it takes a lot of time to go back and forth, so you will lose the opportunity to evacuate.” ”
“It’s true that you can’t go back, even if everything in the base is intact, in such weather, living in such a house will freeze to death.” It was said.
Hua Hua said: “Now all the hopes are pinned on the sea, the air route is unblocked, and it is too late to transport so many people, and now the key is to solve the problem of frozen ports.” ”
David asked Ilyushin, “Where has your icebreaker gone now?” ”
Ilyushin replied: “It’s still in the middle of the Atlantic, and it will take about ten days to get here at the earliest, don’t count on them.” ”
Fumio Onishi suggested: “Is it possible to blow up a channel in the ice with heavy bombers?” ”
Both David and Ilyushin shook their heads, and Scott said: “Bombers simply can’t take off in such weather.” ”
Lu Gang asked: “Aren’t the B2 and Tu-22 all-weather bombers?” ”
“But pilots aren’t all-weather.” Scott said.
Marshal Jiavonov nodded: “Actually, the all-weather mentioned by adults does not necessarily include such terrible weather, and even if you take off, the visibility is so poor, and it is impossible to reach the accuracy of bombing a route, just blowing a large hole in the ice, and the ship still can’t get in.” ”
“How about large-caliber naval guns and torpedoes?” Pierre asked tentatively.
The little generals all shook their heads, “It’s also a matter of visibility, even if you can really blow up a route with this kind of method, it’s too late.” ”
“And,” Hua said, “it will destroy the ice, making it impossible to do the only thing that is now possible.” ”
“What’s the solution?”
“Walk over the ice.”
The several kilometers of wind-swept coast are crowded with abandoned vehicles and makeshift tents, all of which fall in a thick layer of snow that merges with the snowfields behind and the sea of ice in front. Seeing the little heads of state walking along the coast, the children ran out of their tents and carts, and soon gathered around them into a sea of people. The children of all countries shouted something to their little Führer, but their voices were immediately swallowed up by the wind. Several Chinese children surrounded Hua Hua and the glasses and shouted at them:
“Class leader, study committee, what should we do now?!”
Hua Hua did not answer them, but boarded a snow-covered tank next to him. He pointed to the snowy sea of ice and shouted to the crowd below: “Children, walk over the ice to the end of the ice on the edge of the land, there are many big ships waiting for us there!” Realizing that his voice could not reach far in the storm, he leaned over to the nearest child and said, “Spread this word to the back!” ”
Hua Hua’s words spread in the sea of people, and some children of different nationalities used translators to speak, and some used gestures to paint, which was very clear, so it was not out of shape when it was transmitted.
“Squad leader, are you crazy? The sea is so windy, the ice is so slippery, we will be blown away like sawdust! One of the children below shouted.
The glasses said to the child, “Everyone can’t scrape away hand in hand, pass it back.” ”
Soon, rows of hand-in-hand children appeared on the ice, ranging from a few dozen to hundreds of people in each row, walking forward in the blizzard, gradually moving away from the shore, looking like tenacious wriggling insects on the ice sea. The line of heads of state was the first to walk on the ice, with David on Huahua’s left, glasses on his right, and Ilyushin on his right. The wind blew thick snow dust under their feet, and the children seemed to be walking in the midst of a rushing white flood.
“That’s the end of this history.” David turned up the volume of the translator to the maximum and said to Hua Hua.
Hua Hua replied: “Yes, our adults have a saying: there is no thing that cannot be passed. No matter how tough things are, time always moves forward. ”
“It makes sense, but things will be even tougher later: the enthusiasm that Antarctica has stirred up in the hearts of children turns into disappointment, and American society may fall back into the game of violence.”
“Chinese children will also return to their idle slumber, and the interrupted sugar city era will continue…… Alas, it’s hard. ”
“But it probably doesn’t have anything to do with me.”
“I heard your Congress is impeaching you?”
“Hmph, those bitches raised them!”
“But you may be luckier than me, the head of state is really not a human job.”
“Yes, no one would have thought that the thin paper of history could be folded so thickly.”
Hua Hua didn’t quite understand David’s last sentence, and the latter didn’t explain it. The strong winds and bitter cold at sea kept them speechless, and all they could do was move forward with all their might, and from time to time pull up their companions who slipped on both sides.
In another group of children more than a hundred meters away from Hua Hua, Second Lieutenant Wei Ming was also trudging through the snowstorm. Suddenly, he faintly heard a cat meow in the wind, thinking it was a hallucination, but he heard another one, looked around, and found that they had just crossed a stretcher on the ice, and the stretcher was already covered with snow, and if he didn’t pay attention, he would think it was a small snowdrift, and it was from where the cat meow came from. Wei Ming left the queue and slipped to the stretcher. The cat had just run off the stretcher, shivering in the snow and dust, and Wei Ming picked it up and recognized it as a watermelon. He lifted the military blanket on the stretcher, and saw that the man lying on the stretcher was indeed Lieutenant Morgan, who was obviously not lightly injured, his face was covered with ice like a white beard, but his eyes were shining with a high fever. He didn’t seem to recognize Wei Ming, and when he said something, his voice was as weak as a gossamer in the wind. Since there was no translator, Wei Ming couldn’t understand what he said. Wei Ming stuffed the cat in his arms into the military blanket, covered the wounded with the blanket, and then went to the front to pull up the stretcher and walk forward. He walked very slowly, and a group of children behind him quickly caught up with them, and several children ran out of the queue and pushed and pulled the stretcher forward together.
For a while, the children were surrounded by snow and dust, and they were white. They struggled to walk, but they felt like they were frozen in ice. Just as the children were about to freeze, the dark shadow of the fleet appeared ahead. They were told by radio not to move forward, they had reached the edge of the ice on the edge of the land, in front of them was a blank ice that had not been frozen, and they would sink if they stepped on it, and the fleet would send landing craft and hovercraft to pick them up. Through radio and walkie-talkies, I learned that thousands of children had fallen into the cracks in the ice, but most of them had reached the edge of the ice.
Some of the smaller shadows in the distant flotilla gradually became clear in the snow and dust, and they were dozens of landing craft, which broke through the ice floe, and finally leaned against the solid ice, opened the square mouth in front, and the children on the ice swarmed in.
Wei Ming and the children carried the stretcher onto a landing craft, and since it was a ship for transporting the wounded, the children turned around and went out, and Wei Ming never knew which countries they were from. In the dim light of the cabin, Wei Ming saw Morgan on the stretcher staring at him, obviously still not recognizing him. Wei Ming picked up the watermelon and said to Morgan: “You can’t take care of it, I’ll take it to China.” He put down the kitten again and let it lick the face of the former owner, “Lieutenant, don’t worry, you and I can’t die after so many devil games, and we can live in the future. With that, he put the watermelon in his backpack and got off the boat.
Hua Hua is organizing children to get on the boat with several generals of different nationalities, so that the children who can’t get on the boat for the time being don’t all squeeze forward, so as to prevent too many people from collapsing the ice edge. On the ice behind, children from all over the world waiting to board the boat huddled into a personal pile to escape the cold. Hua Hua suddenly heard someone call his name, and when he looked back, it was Wei Ming, and the two elementary school classmates immediately hugged each other.
“You’re coming to Antarctica too?!” Hua Hua asked in surprise.
“I came a year ago with the vanguard of Army Group B. Actually, I’ve seen you and your glasses from afar several times, and I’m just too embarrassed to disturb you. ”
“In our class, it seems that Wang Ran and Jin Yunhui have also joined the army.”
“Yes, they’re all coming to Antarctica.” Wei Ming said, his eyes dimmed.
“Where are they now?”
“Wang Ran was evacuated with the first batch of wounded a month ago, and I don’t know if he has returned to China now, he was seriously injured in the tank game, but his life was saved, but his spine was broken, and he was afraid that he would not be able to stand up in this life.”
“Oh…… What about Jin Yunhui? He seems to be a fighter pilot? ”
“Yes, in the 1st Air Division, he flew the J-10, and his ending was much happier: in a fighter game, the same Su-30 collided, and the plane was blown to pieces, and he was posthumously recognized with a Nebula Medal, but everyone knows that he accidentally crashed into an enemy plane.”
In order to hide his sadness, Hua Hua continued to ask, “What about the rest of the class?” ”
“We still had contact in the first few months of Chaoyuan, and after the beginning of the Sugar City era, most of them, like other children, left the positions assigned by the adults, and they don’t know where they have gone.”
“Teacher Zheng seems to have a child left?”
“Yes, Feng Jing and Yao Pingping took care of him at the beginning, and Xiaomeng also sent someone to find the child. But Teacher Zheng finally instructed that you were not allowed to use your relationship to give special care to that child, so Feng Jing and the others did not let that person find the child. At the beginning of the Sugar City era, the child contracted an infectious disease in the nursery school, and the high fever did not go away, and later his life was saved, but his ears were burned and deaf. At the end of the Sugar City era, the nursery was dissolved, and the last time I saw Feng Jing, she said that the child had been transferred to another nursery school, and no one knew where he was now……”
Hua Hua choked and couldn’t speak, a deep sadness overwhelmed him, and his heart, which had become somewhat numb at the peak of harsh power, softened and melted again.
“Hua Hua,” Wei Ming said, “do you remember the graduation party of our class?” ”
Hua Hua nodded: “Then how can you forget?” ”
“At that time, the glasses said that the future is unpredictable and anything can happen, and he also used chaos theory to prove his words.”
“Yes, he also talked about the principle of uncertainty ……”
“But who would have imagined that we would meet in such a place?”
Hua Hua couldn’t hold back his tears, and the tears on his face were quickly blown cold by the cold wind, and then turned into ice. He looked up at his classmates, Wei Ming’s eyebrows were frozen and turned white, and the skin on his face was dark and rough, covered with scars and chilblains, as well as visible and invisible nicks left by life and war, this child’s face had been weathered.
“Wei Ming, we have all grown up.” Hua Hua said.
“Yes, but you’ll have to grow faster than we do.”
“It’s hard for me, and it’s hard for glasses and Xiaomeng to ……”
“Don’t say it, you must not let the children of the whole country know about it.”
“Isn’t it okay to tell you?”
“Huahua, I can’t help you, say hello to the glasses and Xiaomeng on my behalf, you are the pride of our class, the absolute pride!”
“Wei Ming, take care.” Hua Hua held his classmate’s hand and said affectionately.
“Take care.” Wei Ming shook Hua Hua’s hand tightly, turned around and disappeared into the wind and snow.
David boarded the USS Stennis anchored offshore, a giant ship launched in the nineties of the century A.D. that resembled a black metal island in a blizzard. On the snowy deck runway, David heard a burst of gunfire from the side and asked the captain what was going on to greet him.
“Many children from other countries also want to board the ship, and the Marines are stopping them.”
“Bastard!” David was furious, “Let all the children who can get on board the ship, regardless of which country it is!” ”
“Yes…… Mr. President, this is not going to work, is it? ”
“It’s an order! Get out of the way of those Marines! ”
“Mr. President, I am responsible for the safety of the Stennis MS!”
David slapped the captain’s hat off, “Aren’t you responsible for the lives of those children on the ice sea?” You criminal! ”
“I’m sorry, Mr. President, but as the captain of the Stennis, I can’t carry out your orders.”
“I am the commander-in-chief of the U.S. military, at least for now! If I want, I can have someone throw you into the sea at once, just like your hat, don’t you believe we can try?! ”
The captain hesitated for a moment, and said to a Marine colonel next to him, “Remove your men, and let them come up if they want to get on it.” ”
Children from all over the world continued to flock to the deck from the gangway, and the wind on the deck was even stronger, and they had to take shelter from the cold wind behind fighter planes, and many of them fell into the sea and got wet when they landed on the edge of the ice, and now their clothes were covered with a layer of shiny ice armor.
“Let them go to the cabin, these kids on deck will soon freeze to death!” David shouted to the captain.
“No, Mr. President, the American kids who came up first have already packed all the cabins!”
“What about the hangar? The hangar is very large, can accommodate thousands of people, is it also full?! ”
“The hangar is full of planes!”
“Raise them all to the deck!”
“No! There are many fighters flying from the mainland on the deck, and they are making an emergency landing here due to bad weather, you see, the exits of the elevators are blocked! ”
“Push them into the sea!”
As a result, one fighter plane after another, worth tens of millions, was pushed into the sea from the side of the Stennis. The wide deck runway was soon filled again by planes lifted up from the hangar by huge lifts, and the children of the various countries on the deck entered the spacious hangar and found a warm place to live, and the hangar was soon crowded with thousands of people. After the children warmed up, they were amazed at the enormity of the aircraft carrier. Before that, hundreds of soaking wet children from all over the world had frozen to death in the blizzard on the deck.
The final evacuation lasted three days, and the huge fleet of more than 1,500 ships, carrying more than 200,000 children who had been evacuated from the Antarctic continent, split into two and headed for Argentina and New Zealand. During the evacuation, more than 30,000 children died in the bitter cold, and they were the last people to die on the Antarctic continent in the supernova war.
The Amundsen Sea, which was once full of ships, became empty, and the snow stopped. Although the wind was still strong, the sea and sky became clear in the bitter cold. The sky began to clear, the clouds on the horizon cracked, and the rising sun in the South Pole sprinkled a golden glow on the continent. The rocks and soils that were once exposed to the sky were once again covered in a thick layer of snow, the continent returned to its endless snow whiteness, and Antarctica was once again inaccessible to the inaccessible world. Perhaps, in the distant future, many people will return to this bitterly cold continent in search of the corpses of more than half a million children, the wreckage of countless tanks, and the craters left by two nuclear explosions more than 10 kilometers in diameter. In the continent’s brief spring, three million children from all over the world fought each other in flames and explosions, venting their longing for life. But now, the epic and tragic supernova war seems to be just a nightmare in the long night that has just passed, just a phantom under the brilliant South Aurora light; The continent under the rising sun was only a dead snow white, as if nothing had happened.
The sky began to clear, the clouds on the horizon cracked, and the rising sun in the South Pole sprinkled a golden glow
Land.
Chapter XXVIII: The New President
David stormed the oval president’s office in a state of astonishment. He let out a sigh of relief and scratched his hand at the chilblains on his face, the hallmark of most children returning from Antarctica. He saw the little girl, Bednar, sitting in the president’s high-backed chair, leisurely manicuring her nails. Seeing David come in, she rolled her eyes and said:
“Mr. Herman David, you have been impeached by Congress and have no right to come back to this office, and in fact you don’t even have the right to come into the White House.”
David wiped his forehead and said, “I want to leave, but those little thugs outside the gate want my life!” ”
“You deserve it, you’re the one who made things worse, you’re the worst president in American history.”
“I …… Who are you to speak to me like that?! You, how did you get into my chair? You can be so rude when I’m gone?! ”
Bednar looked at the ceiling and said, “Actually, you need to be polite to me now. ”
David was about to have a seizure when Vaughn walked in and said to David, “You may not know that Frances Bednar has been elected the second president of the Supernova Era of the United States of America. ”
“What?!” David looked at the little blonde girl with her nails on the presidential throne, then at Vaughn, and laughed: “Don’t be kidding, this little idiot, she can’t even count!” Hee-hee-hee-hee……”
Bednar slammed the table, but slapped his little hand in pain, put it to his mouth and sighed, pointed at David with his other hand and said sharply: “Shut up, or you will be sued for defamation of the president!” ”
“You are responsible to the United States!” David said, pointing at Vaughn.
“It’s the choice of all American kids, and the new president is legitimately elected.”
“Phew!” David spat at Bennett, “We were born and died in Antarctica, but you are coquettish in the domestic media!” ”
“Slander the president!” Bednar shouted with a round round eye at Davy again, then smirked, “I’m like Shirley Temple, so everyone chose me.” I’m better than you in this regard, although you are handsome, but you don’t look like any star. ”
“Phew! If it weren’t for those broken black and white films that have been playing on TV all day long, who knows Temple now?! ”
“It’s our campaign strategy.” Bena smiled sweetly again.
“The Democrats are so blind!”
Vaughn said: “In fact, it is understandable that after the world war game, the people need a more moderate figure to represent their will. ”
David pouted contemptuously: “Can this Barbie represent the American will?” Now, a sense of loss over the Antarctic has gripped the nation, and the United States is once again in the midst of a game of violence. In fact, the United States is in a much more terrible situation now than it was during the Civil War, when the country could collapse at any moment, and at such a time the American children are handing over their country to Barbie ……”
Vaughn pointed to two buttons on the president’s desk and interrupted Davy by saying:
“A lot of people out there are interested in these two buttons, and there have been all kinds of speculation in the media. They believe that these two buttons are related to the fate of the country. When the president presses one of them, he immediately connects with all NATO countries; Press the other one, and the war alarm will sound throughout the country, the bombers will leave the ground, and the nuclear bombs will fly out of the silos…… Etcetera. ”
In fact, the purpose of those two buttons is to ask for coffee and to call a handyman to clean the room. David was speechless.
Having finished trimming his nails, Bednar trimmed his eyelashes with a pair of tiny pliers in front of the small mirror while saying to Vaughn, “David has indeed been overestimating himself and feeling like a god ruling the world.” I’m not that stupid, I don’t have the same misunderstanding of my own power as outsiders have about these two buttons, I know I’m not smart, but it’s better than being smart in the opposite direction like David. ”
Vaughn nodded, “You’re smart at that. ”
“I ride on the horse of history, and I don’t pull the reins and go wherever it goes, instead of pulling the reins and driving it down the cliff like Davy did.”
Vaughn nodded again: “That’s wise. ”
Bednar lowered the small mirror and glanced at Vaughn and said, “I know you’re smart and you can go and make history, but you’ll have to give me most of the credit.” ”
“That’s fine, I’m not interested in making a name in history,” Vaughn said. ”
Bednar smiled playfully: “I see this, otherwise you would have been president a long time ago.” But you should at least tell me something when you make history, so that I can have something to say before Congress and reporters. ”
“That’s easy to do.” Vaughn smiled imperceptibly.
David was stunned for a moment, then nodded thoughtfully: “Yes, I understand, Mr. Vaughn regards us all as tools to realize his ideas, the country and the world are his stage, and anyone is a puppet for him to manipulate on the stage at will, yes, that’s what he thinks……” He jumped up angrily and took out something from his pocket, which was a snooker short-barreled revolver in the shape of a big nose, he pointed the gun at Vaughn and said: “You are too insidious and terrible, I want to open a skylight on your head!” I’ve been hating your head for a long time! ”
Bednar screamed and tried to ring the alarm, but Vaughn stopped her with a gentle wave of his hand. “You won’t shoot, and then you won’t be able to get out of this old building that you don’t like. You are a typical American, and it is your essential weakness to do everything based on the iron principle that input is greater than output. ”
David put away the gun and said, “Of course, the input is greater than the output!” ”
“But it can’t be like that to make history.”
“I won’t make history in the future, I’m annoyed!” David said, then jumped to the door, took one last look at the oval office that had encapsulated his myriad dreams, and ran away.
David went out the back door of the White House with a motorcycle helmet in his hand. He found a Lincoln sedan that he had left there, opened the door and got in, put on his helmet, found sunglasses from inside the car and put them on, then started the car and drove out. Outside the White House, the hundreds of children who were trying to settle accounts with him were still there, but they didn’t pay much attention to the car and let it go. Davy glanced out of the car as he walked through the crowd and saw a banner unfurled by children:
“Don’t ask David for Bena, the world game is different!”
David drove aimlessly around the capital. Washington, D.C., now has a small population, and most of its children have gone to the big industrial cities to make a living. In fact, it has become almost an empty city, except for government agencies. It was past nine o’clock in the morning, but the city showed no sign of waking up, and the surroundings were still as silent as late at night. David now has a deeper sense of the city: a mausoleum. He misses the hustle and bustle of New York, where he came from and where he is going.
David felt that the Lincoln was a dazzling thing, and that this kind of high-end play was no longer suitable for him. He pulled over in a secluded spot by the Potomac River, got out of the car and took out the Minniemi light machine gun that Vaughn had given him from the trunk. He looked at the translucent plastic magazine on the gun, there was still half a magazine of bullets in it, he pointed the gun flat, aimed it at the Lincoln car a few meters away, and fired a burst of fire, three flames erupted from the muzzle, and the recoil made him sit on the ground with a butt on the ground. He sat there staring at the car, and when he saw that nothing had happened, he stood up with his gun in hand, turned the fire control valve at the rear of the barrel to the highest rate of fire, and then staggered the gun flat and fired at the car again. The rapid sound of gunfire echoed over the river, and he fell to the ground again, but the car still did not respond; He stood up again, his jeans smeared with two rounds of dirt, and he shot the car again, emptying the magazine, and the Lincoln brand slammed into a cloud of black smoke wrapped in flames and burned. David excitedly shouted, “Woohoo-” and ran away with the machine gun in his hand.
“The world of kids is going to get a lot more magical and weird, and it’s a good time for us to come up with a new game.” In the Oval Office of the White House, Vaughn said to the new president.
Chapter Twenty-Nine: Coming Home
Late at night, the Forbidden City was shrouded in the blue light of the Rose Nebula, and the flock of night birds hovering at the noon gate had already flown back to their nests. In the boundless silence, the ancient palace fell asleep, dreaming deep dreams.
Xiao Meng walked slowly along the long exhibition hall, the relics slowly moved away from her, the ancient bronze and clay warmed and softened in the blue light of the nebula, she even felt that there were thin blood vessels showing on them, they were all solidified ancient life and soul, Xiao Meng was in their silent breathing; The countless bronze vessels and clay pots seemed to be filled
a fluid as energetic as blood; The long “Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival” in the glass case is blurred in the blue light of the nebula, but there is a faint noise flying out; The terracotta warriors and horses in front of them glowed blue-white, as if it was not Xiaomeng walking towards him, but him floating towards her…… Xiaomeng started from the southernmost modern part and walked north, through one exhibition hall after another, time and history flowing backwards from her in the blue light of the nebula, and she paced through dynasties to the ancients……
By this time, the Great Migration had been completed on Chinese soil, half of the country north of the Yangtze River had become a no-man’s land, and cities and villages, including the capital, had become empty. The children have migrated to the South to live. Although there are 300 million people living in the south, it is still very empty compared to the time when it was an adult, and the children have much easier life there and more time for education and play. The ecology of the north will slowly recover, and the green will gradually cover the earth. In the future, many children will go to the vast land of the north to play, in the empty city, in the green fields, they will appreciate the passing years of Chinese civilization.
Xiaomeng has come to the end of the cultural relics exhibition hall, which is the exhibition area of ancient times and the source of Chinese civilization. The things of those times before her were exquisitely crafted, and she felt awe-inspired, but incomprehensible, as if there was an invisible wall separating her from those eras. When she walked into the modern exhibition area, this strangeness deepened, and she almost lost the courage to move forward. Since the Qing Dynasty, which is not far away, is a completely strange world to her, can she still expect to understand the distant times ahead? But contrary to Xiaomeng’s expectations, the more she walked upstream to civilization, the less strange she felt, and when she reached the source of civilization that was incomparably far away, the child suddenly found herself in a familiar and intimate world! It’s like a long journey, a long journey through strange and incomprehensible territories, full of strange and incomprehensible adults, who speak an unintelligible language and live another life, as if they were from another planet. But when she came to the end of heaven and earth, she found a world of children like herself! Those exquisite and gorgeous cultural relics of modern times do not belong to children, and the human beings who created those cultural relics have grown up; Human childhood, although more distant, is connected to children. Xiaomeng stared intently at the remnant of Yangshao culture: a clay pot. She looked at the rough artifact and remembered a heavy rain in her childhood, and the thing she had made out of the mud in the ground under the rainbow after the rain. The era she is looking at is the era of Pangu opening the world, the era of Nuwa mending the sky, the era of Jingwei reclamation, and the era of Kuafu chasing the sun. Later human beings grew up, but they were timid, and they never created such earth-shattering myths again.
Xiao Meng opened the glass on the display case and carefully took out the clay pot, she felt that the thing was warm, and there was a slight tremor in her hand, it was a life form containing huge energy! She put her ear to the mouth of the can, and there was a sound, like the sound of the wind, it was the sound of the wind in the ancient fields. Xiaomeng held the clay pot up and pointed at the bright rose nebula, which glowed a faint red in the blue light. She stared at the pattern of a fish on it, and the lines that were too simple to be simple twisted slightly, and the fish eyes represented by the small black circle suddenly became spiritual; There were many shadows floating on the rough surface of the pot, and it was not clear what they were, except that they were naked figures, wrestling with something much larger than theirs; The ancient sun and moon were in this jar, shining gold and silver light on the forms. The patterns on the clay pots, the fish and the beasts, are all like a pair of eyes, which have passed tens of thousands of years. Xiaomeng met the gaze of her first ancestor, and that gaze transmitted to her a wild vitality, making her want to scream, to cry and laugh, to run in the wind-howling fields without any clothes. Xiao Meng finally felt the blood of the ancestors in her veins.
Xiaomeng walked through the ancient palace illuminated by the stars, holding the ancient clay pot in her hand, which she wanted to take to the new capital of the south. She walked cautiously and slowly, as if holding her own eyes, her own life. As she reached the Jinshui Bridge, the last gate of the ancient palace slammed shut behind her.
Unlike David, who returned home early by plane, Huahua and the glasses were still bustling on the sea with the Chinese fleet.
The strong wind that had been blowing for two days finally stopped, but the waves were still unabated, the night sky was overcast, and only rolling white waves could be seen on the ocean in the middle of the night.
This is the last fleet of Chinese children to withdraw from Antarctica, with more than a hundred warships and transports. The flotilla departed from Argentina
Twenty-two days into the voyage, a major storm was encountered at the end of the voyage. Yesterday, when the wind was at its highest, the two transport ships of smaller tonnage that were walking behind were swallowed up by the huge waves, and another 20,000-ton freighter tried to come to the rescue, but the captain rashly ordered the rudder to turn, so that the hull was facing the crest of the waves, and the ship quickly capsized under the blow of several huge waves. Two helicopters that took off from another warship also fell silently into the ocean, and the fleet command had to abandon rescue efforts, and more than 4,000 children were killed in the dark Pacific Ocean. The remaining thirty-eight ships continued their difficult voyage in the midst of strong winds and waves. Before that, the children had already experienced the rigors of the voyage: first suffering from poor cabin conditions and seasickness, then food shortages, with only enough food to eat each person a day, not to mention vegetables, and a limited number of vitamin pills. Half of the children suffer from night blindness, and the number of sepsis patients is increasing, and the desire to go home sustains everyone.
The waves had finally begun to recede, and the fleet had been off course for two days in order to take the safest way to navigate the waves, and now the whole fleet was trying to turn with difficulty, and the sound of thunderous waves moved from the bow to the port side, and the sway of the hull from side to side intensified.
At this time, the dark clouds over the ocean dispersed, and the rose nebula sprinkled its light on the surface of the ocean, and the waves caught the light and tore it apart, and the Pacific Ocean seemed to turn into a magnificent blue sea of fire! The children ran to the deck, seasickness and hunger making it difficult for them to walk as they sleepwalked to the side of the boat, gazing for a long time at the vast expanse of the sea and sky under the rose nebula, until the first light appeared in the east.
“Coast!” Someone shouted.
The guns of several destroyers in the flotilla rang out in the air, and strings of flares and fireworks were raised from other ships, and the sound of cannons, waves, wind, and children’s cheers mingled between the sky and the sea.
At the line between sea and sky, the shores of the motherland have loomed in the light of dawn and rose nebulae.
End
It’s finally finished! I took a long breath like a diver emerges from the surface. I have been diving in this water for half a year, and this book has occupied all my life for half a year. Now that I’m really done “writing”, there is a power outage, and the government says that the solar array is wrong again, so I have to pick up the old pen. But yesterday the pen froze and was not written; I didn’t freeze today, but I was sweating profusely in the heat, and the sweat dripped onto the paper. In this climate, it’s the same every day, or even an hour, and it’s really uncomfortable not to turn on the air conditioner.
Looking out the window, there is a green meadow dotted with houses from the migrant village, all of which are pale yellow simple bungalows. Looking further away, oh my God, let’s not look at it, except that the desert is the desert, a desolate red, and from time to time there is a sandstorm that rises, obscuring the sun that has not much heat in the dim red sky.
This hell place, this ghost place!
“You said you’d spend time with your children after you finish writing your book!” Frenna came over and said.
I said I’m writing a postscript, and I’ll be done soon.
“I think you, maybe it’s been in vain, from a historiographical point of view, your book is too unusual; From a literary point of view, it is too realistic. ”
She was right, the publisher said the same, alas, what can be done, this is forced out by the status quo in the historiography!
Being a suprahistorical researcher in this day and age is unfortunate. The supernova era has only been around for more than 30 years, but the historical research on it has been vigorous, and it has long gone beyond the scope of historiography and has become a kind of commercial speculation. Books have been published one after another, most of them grandstanding. Some boring so-called historians also divide these 30 years into many eras, the number of which is more than the dynasties in the pre-Yuan history, and the length of the era is accurate to the day, and the hype is segmented to make a lot of money.
At present, the research on the history of the transcendental yuan can be roughly divided into two schools: the alternate school and the psychology school.
The overhead school is the most prevalent, and its approach is to make assumptions about history, such as: What would superdimensional history look like if supernova rays were a little stronger enough to survive only eight years old, or a little weaker enough to survive under twenty years old? What if supernova warfare was not in the form of a game, but a regular war with the concept of AD? Wait a minute. There is a reason for this school of thought: the explosion of supernovae has made mankind realize that the course of history has a certain degree of contingency from a cosmic point of view
As Dr. Liu Jing, a representative of this school, said: “History is a small branch that runs down a stream, which may whirl in a small whirlpool for half a day, or it may be tripped by a small stone outcropping from the water, and there are infinite possibilities.” Historiography as a science, if you study only one of its possibilities, is as ridiculous as playing a deck of cards full of aces. The emergence of this school of thought is also related to the recent confirmation of the fiber universe theory of quantum mechanics, and the profound influence of fiber universe theory on various disciplines, including historiography, has only just begun.
I do not deny that there are some serious scholars in the Alternate School, such as Alexander Levinson (author of “The Direction of the Cross-section”) and Taro Matsumoto (author of “Branches Without Limits”), whose research takes another possible direction of history as a unique perspective to elucidate the inner laws of real history, and I have a respectful attitude towards these scholars, whose work has been treated coldly is a tragedy in the field of historiography. But on the other hand, this school of thought also provides a suitable stage for those who rely on fancy fists and embroidered feet to make a splash, and they are far more interested in alternate history than in real history, and it is better to call these people utopian novelists than historical researchers. The representative figure among them is the above-mentioned Liu Jing. She has been making frequent appearances in the media lately, hyping up her fifth book, which is said to have paid as much as 3.5 million Martian dollars in royalties, and the title of the book is “Big If”, which can be seen from the name. When it comes to Dr. Liu Jing’s academic attitude, I have to mention her father in the first century AD. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not in the descent theory, but since Dr. Liu has repeatedly emphasized that her academic thinking was influenced by her great father, I have to learn a little about his father. It wasn’t easy, I searched through all the materials from the century A.D., searched all the ancient databases I could find, and I couldn’t find the man. Fortunately, Liu Jing was once Frenna’s graduate tutor, so I asked her to ask Dr. Liu himself, and it turned out that Liu Jing’s father, Liu Cixin, who had achieved nothing, had written several science fiction novels in the first century AD, most of which were published in a magazine called SFW (I have researched that it was Science Fiction World magazine, which is the predecessor of the Precise Dream Group, which now monopolizes the hypermedia art market on two planets). Frenna also brought three of them, and I read half of them and threw them aside, what rubbish, the whale in the novel actually has teeth! Under the influence of this father, it is not surprising that Dr. Liu Jing’s attitude and way of doing scholarship are not surprising.
The psychology school of trans-historical research is much more serious, and this school of thought believes that the reason why super-meta-history has greatly exceeded the trajectory of pre-super-meta-human history is due to the psychology of children in super-meta-society. The Protocellular Society, written by von Schfensingegger, a representative of this school, systematically expounded the unique connotation of a society without a family at the beginning of the Common Era. Zhang Fengyun’s “Sexless World” went a little further and caused some controversy, but its analysis of a society where sex has not yet appeared is still very serious and incisive. But I don’t think the foundation of psychology is solid, and in fact, the mental form of a super-dimensional child is completely different from that of a child in the Common Era. In some ways, they are more naïve than AD children, while in others, they are more mature than AD adults. Super-metahistory and child psychology, who makes whom, this is a chicken-and-egg question.
There are also some rigorous scholars who do not belong to a certain school, but whose results in transhistorical research are still very valuable. A.G. Hopkins, for example, whose book Class Society, is a comprehensive study of the polity of the child’s world, has been attacked in a variety of ways, but mostly for ideological rather than academic reasons, which is not surprising given the field covered in this book; Keiko Yamanaka’s “Growing Yourself” and Lin Mingzhu’s “Candlelight on a Cold Night” are two super-yuan educational histories, although the emotional factors in them are heavier, but they still do not lose their comprehensive and objective historical value; Zeng Yulin’s magnum opus, Singing Again, systematically studies the art of children’s world in a rigorous and poetic way, which is also one of the few works in the study of transhistory that is both acclaimed in the academic community and the media…… The value of the research results of these scholars will still be tested by time, but their research itself is serious, at least there is no such thing as “The Great If……
“When it comes to my mentor, you can’t always be calm.” Franna, who was watching me write, said.
Can I calm down? Is she Liu Jing calm? Before my book came out, she sneered at it in the media, saying that “fiction is not like fiction, documentary is not like documentary, history is not like history, and it is nondescript.” This kind of behavior of belittling others to elevate oneself will certainly not have a good impact on the academic atmosphere that is already not very pure in the study of superhistory.
I wrote this out of frustration. The premise of historical research is that history must be cooled down, has the history of Chaoyuan been cooled down for more than 30 years? No. We are all witnesses of this history, the fear of the supernova explosion, the loneliness when the AD bell goes out, the confusion of the sugar city era, and the tragedy of the supernova war, all of which are deeply imprinted in our minds. Before I moved here, my family lived next to a railroad, and I was tormented every night by the same nightmare, in which I was running across the black fields, and there was a terrible sound between heaven and earth, like a flood, like an earthquake, like a horde of beasts roaring, like a nuclear bomb roaring in the air. Late one night, I finally woke up from a nightmare, slammed open the window, there were no stars or moon outside, and a night train was slowly moving on the earth illuminated by the rose nebula…… Is it possible to study history on a theoretical level in this state? No, we lack the calmness and detachment necessary for theoretical research, and the theoretical study of the history of the early Yuan Dynasty needs to wait for it to be separated from the researcher before it can proceed normally, and this may be the next generation’s business. For our generation of super-historical researchers, we can only write down the history in a blank way, leaving a record of the history of the early super-Yuan from the perspectives of historical witnesses and historical researchers, and I think there is only so much that can be done in super-yuan historiography now.
But it won’t be easy. My original idea was to write from the perspective of an ordinary person, and to use the method of abstract insertion of the top level of the country and the world process, so that it would be more like a novel. However, I am a historical researcher, not a writer, and my literary level is not enough to see the sea from a drop of water, so I go the opposite way, directly describing the top level of the country, and inserting the details of ordinary people’s experiences into the performance with abstracts. Most of the children’s leaders of the day have now left their posts, which gives them a lot of time to be interviewed by me, which is what Dr. Liu Jing now calls a “nondescript” book.
“Daddy, Daddy, come out, it’s cool outside!” Jingjing knocked on the window pane and shouted, his little face pressed against the glass, squeezing his little nose flat. I saw those isolated peaks in the distance casting long shadows on the red desert, and the sun was about to set, and of course it was cooling.
But I’m a historian after all, and I can’t help but do what I have to do. The current study of parahistory is focused on the controversy over a few key issues, and this controversy has spread to the media, which has become more and more hyped, and serious researchers of parahistory have complained about it
On the contrary, there are fewer opinions than the average person, and I would like to take this opportunity to share my views on several hot issues in the study of transhistory.
1. When did the supernova era begin. There are two extreme views, one of which is that it began with the explosion of supernovae, on the grounds that the cosmic sign is the most authoritative sign of the beginning of the epoch. This is obviously untenable, the signs of the human calendar are cosmic, but the signs of the epochs can only be historical; The second is that the beginning of the supernova war is the real supernova beginning, which is also unreasonable, because before the war, the course of history has long gone beyond the AD model. I think it is reasonable for the new era to start when the bell is extinguished, and some people will object that the history at that time was still in the AD pattern. But history always has its inertia, and you can’t say that the whole world was a Christian at the time of Jesus’ birth. The symbol of the A.D. bell has a very profound meaning in both historical and philosophical senses.
2. On the successes and failures of the countries at the end of the Common Era, especially its legitimacy, in selecting the leaders of the child countries in the way of simulating the state. I don’t want to say much about it, and even now, those who think this approach is unacceptable have not come up with a better solution, let alone at a time when every country is facing an existential stake. Historiography is now full of such self-righteous people, and the best way to get them to know themselves is to walk the railroad tracks between two tall buildings.
3. Is the purpose of the World War Game a game or is it a scramble for the South Pole? It is not easy to answer this question from the current adult mindset, just like the pre-Yuan war, political, economic, ethnic, and religious issues are often integrated, and it is difficult to separate them; It’s the same with Antarctic games, in the world of kids, games and national politics are inseparable, two sides of the same coin. This begs the following question:
IV. The Strategic Problem of American Children in Supernova Wars. It has been suggested that because the American children have a great advantage in military power, they can easily occupy the Antarctic if they fight a conventional war. In conventional warfare, the United States could use a powerful navy to cut off the enemy’s sea transportation lines, so that it would be impossible for other countries to project troops to Antarctica. Those who hold this view lack a minimum of common sense of world politics, and only think about the transcendental world from a shallow geopolitical point of view in the first century, and they do not understand the basic principle of world politics: the principle of balance of power. If this is the case, other countries will immediately form an alliance, and any combination of China, Russia, Europe, and Japan will be powerful enough to compete with the United States, and the final power pattern formed is not much different from the game war, except that the country is replaced by an alliance, and the political performance is more generalized.

“Daddy, Daddy, come out! Didn’t you promise to join us in watching the blue stars? It’s about to rise! ”
I sighed and put down my pen, thinking to myself that I had involuntarily begun to explore futile theories, so I decided to stop there. I got up and walked out the door to the grass outside, when the sun was about to set, and the Rose Nebula was beginning to show its luminosity.
“Oh my God, the sky is clean!” I shouted in surprise. The immovable dirty clouds in the sky that I had seen when I went out before were gone, and the sky showed a pure reddish color.
“It’s been a week, you just know!” Frenna said, pulling Jingjing.
“Didn’t the government say there was no money to clean the shield?”
“It was a volunteer! I also went, I cleaned 400 square meters! Jingjing said proudly.
I looked up and saw that there were people on top of the two-thousand-meter-high shield cleaning the last dirty cloud, which looked like a few small black dots on the bright blue background of the Rose Nebula.
It was cold and snowing. The green meadows in the distance, the red desert outside the protective shield, the brilliant rose nebula in space, and the white snowflakes flying in the sky make for a beautiful picture.
“They can’t adjust the climate control system all the time!” Frenna complained.
“It’s going to be fine, everything is going to be fine……” I said from the bottom of my heart.
“Rise, rise!” Jingjing cheered.
On the eastern horizon, a blue star rose, like a sapphire on a pale red veil of the sky.
“Dad, where are we from?” Jingjing asked.
“Yes.” I nodded.
“Did our grandparents live there all the time?”
“Yes, they’ve always lived there.”
“Is that Earth?”
Looking at the blue planet, I seemed to be looking at my mother’s pupils, tears rolling in my eyes, and I choked up and said:
“Yes boy, that’s the earth.”

postscript
In the darkness, you take the hands of your parents and walk slowly in a certain direction, you can’t see their figures clearly in the darkness, but those two hands make your spirit step on the solid earth. Suddenly, those two hands let go of yours, and you grope in vain in the darkness to find them, and you cry out in despair, and the endless darkness swallows up your voice……
This may be a dream that everyone has had in their childhood, and losing their parents’ hands in the dark is the most fearful thing for every child.
This is also the most feared thing of all mankind, and this fear is deeply rooted in human civilization, so that ancient religions still exist today and occupy an important place in the spiritual life of mankind – in the face of the dark and deep universe, human beings are trying in vain to grasp a pair of hands that do not exist. In this sense, the world is now the world of children depicted in this novel, and all mankind is an orphan who cannot find the hands of his parents, his heart is full of fear and confusion, and at the same time, the fire of childishness and wildness in human nature is ignited, and finally it burns into the fire of destruction of madness…… We are not even as fortunate as the children in the novel, who have no one to teach us in the big study.
In this way, the book just tells a rather bland story.
When you are diagnosed with cancer, the world suddenly changes to a different shape in your eyes: the sky is red and the sun is blue; And when you finally learn that this is a misdiagnosis, the sky turns blue and the sun turns red, but in your eyes, this is not the same sky and the sun as before, and for you, the world and life have added a lot of connotation. The apocalyptic experience of one person is a very precious experience, but what about the apocalyptic experience of all mankind? If the world experiences such a “misdiagnosis”, then all human beings will also look at our sky and sun in a new light, and cherish everything they used to think was normal, and the human world will follow a more reasonable trajectory. And the only literature that can bring this apocalyptic experience is science fiction.
Another indispensable experience is the life experience, in the people around you, every moment is interpreting the colorful life, the different experiences of different people, make us sigh at the richness of life. But human civilization as a whole is one, operating alone in desolate space at the tip of a spiral arm of the Milky Way. We believe that there must be many civilizations in this universe that are playing out different histories at every moment, but we can’t see them, and over time we will mistakenly think that the course of our civilization is the only one, and there will be no other choice. Science fiction has created a variety of civilization processes for us that are different from reality, and through the feeling of these virtual histories, we can jump out of reality and experience many things hidden deep in reality.
A “War and Peace”, a million words, only describes the history of a limited region of the earth for decades; And a short science fiction novel of several thousand words, such as Asimov’s “The Last Question”, can describe the time of hundreds of billions of years from reality to the destruction of the universe. Science fiction literature is the only literature that is realistic. Most people may disagree with this statement from a science fiction critic, but it does tell the truth in some way. Looking at reality from the imaginary world of science fiction can enable us to have a more real and profound understanding of reality. American science fiction researcher Gunn once said: “The disasters described in science fiction novels are often the disasters of the entire human race.” “In essence, the protagonist of science fiction is all mankind, and in the science fiction world, all mankind is no longer just one family, but a single intelligent microorganism living alone on a speck of space dust in the vast desert universe.
That’s the beauty of science fiction, which allows us to see the world through God’s eyes.
Perspective reality and dissecting human nature is not the task of science fiction, much less its strength. The goal of science fiction is the same as God’s: to create new worlds of all kinds.
It is true that Chinese science fiction literature is still in its infancy, and to this day, our science fiction novels have not really created a world of their own imagination, and we are just interpreting our own stories in multiple worlds created by others.
But on the other hand, science fiction literature is essentially naïve, and what it wants to express is the curiosity and fear of human beings in childhood in the face of the vast and deep universe, as well as the impulse to explore. In the face of such a universe, human science and philosophy are very naïve, and it is not surprising that science fiction, as the only literary form that expresses both, is soaked in childishness. When the science of mankind develops to the limit in the future, everything in the universe will be completely revealed, that is, when science fiction will die.
“…… From the first time I saw a rainbow, I thought of her as a multicolored bridge in the sky, I think it was a bridge made of crystal, with pillars of multicolored light shining in it. Once, after a heavy rain, I ran desperately towards the rainbow, and I wanted to run to her feet, to climb to its frighteningly high top, to see what was behind the row of mountains in the sky, to see how big the world really was. But when I ran, she seemed to move forward, and at last as soon as the sun set, it melted from the bottom up……”
This description in the book is the author’s real childhood experience. Each of our lives is actually a journey of chasing dreams, and unlike other illusory dreams, dreams created by science fiction are like rainbows, which are real beings connected to the earth and another manifestation of the sun. Although it will eventually disappear, we will find that we have advanced a lot on the road to chasing our dreams, and we have grown a lot.
